He began developing his listing program, starting with the listing concept, then designing the website. Fred wanted to bring the entire listing process online, so his customers could easily purchase and complete the listing process without the inconvenience of having to print or fax the documents (which is how most flat fee companies work).
The website you see now is a result of hundreds of development hours and thousands of dollars invested… A true labor of love! You may ask, why change business models? It’s simple really – Fred saw the “shift” in real estate coming, and he wanted to become the best and largest flat fee broker in Connecticut.
Fred saw that savvy sellers were quickly realizing that there was an easy way to get on the Realtor’s MLS without hiring a traditional agent or paying an enormous commission. It became more clear as the real estate industry moved online and listing information became available to the public, without requiring an agent. At the same time, buyers shifted to searching for homes online, and away from relying on Realtors to provide them with listing information.
Fred knew that sellers could save a bundle if they handled the selling transaction on their own, while harnessing the power of the MLS to market their home. The vision Fred had became reality in 2010 when he purchased flatfeerealty.com and re-launched the website as a national flat fee listing company! And the story continues…
